Theatrically trained in England, Kate returned to Canada to a successful run on Canadian stage. From the theatrical stage to the many stages of motherhood, Kate found her newest passion at an open mike one night at a local comedy club. Now, a five-time nominee at the Canadian Comedy Awards and star of her own hour-long comedy special on CTV and the Comedy Network, Kate has appeared on Breakfast Television, Star TV, Toronto 1, Prime, WTN, TVO and CBC Radio One The Debaters. Kate tours globally with her comedy, speaking and has opened for President Bill Clinton and Barbara Walters.

Darrell Keezer has established several successful digital marketing agencies over the years, helping companies grow all over the world. During school, Darrell’s lowest grade was in Online Advertising and only a few years later, he was inducted into Sheridan’s Business Hall of Fame for his work in building an award winning agencies.
Darrell is the CEO and founder of Candybox Marketing, a rapidly growing marketing agency focused on helping companies grow their inbound sales through social media and search marketing. In the past year, Darrell has also disrupted his own industry with his latest venture, Launch48; a website design company that delivers quality websites in only two days.
He is a published author, and keynote speaker; speaking at over 50 events per year on the importance and impact of digital marketing. In 2016, he was named Entrepreneur of the Year by two organizations, and won an Award of Excellence in Business from the Governor General of Canada.
Thought Leader in Canada’s Retail Financial Services Industry
Benjamin Reed-Hurwitz joined Strategic Insight, a thought leader in Canada’s retail financial services industry, in January 2014 after experiencing first-hand the life of being a financial advisor. Now responsible for Strategic Insight’s Canadian group retirement savings and retail insurance research, Benjamin is dedicated to delivering to our clients high quality and relevant information. Benjamin also spearheaded and coauthored Strategic Insight’s Singing in Global Unison report, which explores how retail financial services regulation around the globe is changing the status quo.
Benjamin holds an Honours degree from the University of Waterloo and a Master’s of International Public Policy from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Senior Managing Director at Strategic Insight
As the Senior Managing Director at Strategic Insight (formerly Investor Economics), a premier Toronto consulting firm specializing in the financial services industry, Carlos Cardone leads a team of 11 professionals heavily immersed in the research of investment funds, deposit products and Canada’s wealth market. He is one of the key contributors to the Household Balance Sheet Report, a research service that tracks (and forecasts) the financial holdings of Canadian households. Mr. Cardone also leads the research for the Insight Report, which focuses on investment funds; SIMFUND Canada, a web-based decision-making tool for mutual fund companies; the ETF and Index Fund Report; the Deposit and Fixed Income Advisory Service and Share of the Wealth Market Report, a customized study that measures the success of distribution and product strategies.
Mr. Cardone joined Investor Economics in 2004. Trained as a market analyst, he has several years’ experience in the automotive industry in South America.
Mr. Cardone graduated from the Social Sciences School, University of Buenos Aires, in Argentina. He is a native Spanish speaker, and as you might anticipate, a soccer fan.
Vice President, Business Development, Canada
CANNEX Financial Exchanges Limited
Kimberley Muise leads business development and product management for the suite of products and services offered by CANNEX Financial Exchanges Limited in Canada. CANNEX specializes in gathering, compiling and redistributing comparative information about financial products in Canada and the United States. Prior to joining CANNEX in 2016, Kimberley spent 11 years at TMX Group as Director, Registry Business for CDS (Canadian Depository for Securities) and Director, Content and Electronic Innovation for Datalinx, both wholly owned divisions of TMX Group. Kimberley also spent 7 years at CIBC Wood Gundy responsible for product management of the full-service and discount brokerage businesses. Kimberley studied at The University of Western Ontario and earned a degree in Mathematics and Statistics.
Thomas Feltmate is a Senior Economist with TD Bank Group, where he provides analysis of Canadian and U.S. macroeconomic trends and their implications for commercial bank lending and deposit activity. Thomas is regularly involved in enterprise-wide risk management activities such as stress testing, and also conducts industry risk analysis.
Prior to coming to TD Economics, Thomas worked in a research division at the Bank of Canada, where he focused on modelling economic and financial risk scenarios to determine their implications for the global economy. Thomas holds an M.A. in Economics from Queen’s University as well as an Honours B.A. in Economics and a B.Sc. in Physics from St. Francis Xavier University.

Tonya joined APEXA in 2015 following 15 years’ experience in Life Insurance and Life Reinsurance with Maritime Life, Manulife and Pacific Life Re. She has a breadth of leadership experience in the areas of policyowner service, claims, operations, data management, audit, project management, strategy, IT infrastructure and IT development.
Throughout her career Tonya has taken an active role in the industry by participating in committees and presenting at industry forums in the areas of Education, Leadership, High Performance Teams, Organizational Change and Project Management.
Tonya holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Dalhousie University and an MBA from Laurier. When not focused on work Tonya has a love for the outdoors spending time mountain biking, hiking, sailing and skiing.
