Sam Sivarajan
Sam Sivarajan is a business leader who has built and led three major wealth firms, overseeing $80 billion in assets. As an investment banker in London, he advised on more than $40 billion in M&A transactions. With a doctorate in behavioral science, he combines financial expertise with a deep understanding of human behavior—helping businesses navigate complexity with clarity and confidence.
A lifelong learner, Sam continually seeks new challenges. He recently completed a 10-day silent meditation retreat in a Buddhist monastery in Thailand, followed by 10 days of Muay Thai training. An avid adventurer, he has climbed peaks in the Alps, Andes, Himalayas, and Kilimanjaro, cycled from London to Monaco, and run multiple marathons, including a personal best in Boston.
As a speaker, consultant, and best-selling author, Sam blends his business expertise with insights from his adventures, offering a distinctive perspective on leadership, resilience, and decision-making in an ever-changing world.
Hugo Lacroix
Hugo Lacroix joined the Autorité des marchés financiers in September 2011 and has served as Superintendent, Securities Markets since January 2019.
A member of the AMF’s Executive Committee, he leads a team of close to 150 employees tasked with ensuring the application of the regulations applicable to derivatives, the public offerings and continuous disclosure obligations of corporations and investment funds, and take-over and issuer bids. The team also oversees the Québec activities of market structures, including exchanges and clearing houses, and is responsible for oversight of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO). Since 2021, Mr. Lacroix has served as executive lead on sustainable finance issues. In March 2024, he assumed responsibility for supervision of the activities connected with the distribution of financial products and services and oversight of the activities of Québec’s Chambre de l’assurance de dommages and Chambre de la sécurité financière.
Louise Gauthier
Louise Gauthier joined the Autorité des marchés financiers (“AMF”) in 2009 and was appointed to her current position as Senior Director, Distribution Policies in 2014. She was previously Director, Distribution Policies and SROs between 2011 and 2014. Her team’s responsibilities include monitoring of professional distribution practices in the areas of insurance, securities, financial planning and mortgage brokerage, and the development of distribution policies in these areas. As appropriate, her department will also intervene to clarify AMF’s expectations with regards to practices considered to be risky from a consumer standpoint.
Ms. Gauthier and her teams lead or are actively involved in numerous projects undertaken under the purview of the Canadian Securities Administrators, the Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators, the Canadian Insurance Services Regulatory Organizations, and the Mortgage Broker Regulators’ Council of Canada. She is currently Vice Chair of the Mortgage Broker Regulators’ Council of Canada.
Ali Ghiassi
Ali Ghiassi is Vice-President of Industry Affairs and Government Relations at Canada Life where he leads the national public policy team helping to shape legislative, regulatory and industry policies impacting the company’s Canadian operations. He works closely with our Canadian business leaders, distribution partners and industry colleagues to ensure that policymakers understand the important role that we play in supporting the financial needs of Canadians.
Ali has more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience with a record of successfully aligning public affairs strategies to meet business objectives and building value creation. He served as senior political advisor in the Ontario government for nearly a decade, including as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Finance between 2014-18. During this period, Ali designed, developed and delivered four provincial budgets; played a leadership role in the initial public offering of Hydro One; and led Ontario’s negotiations with the federal and provincial governments to enhance the Canada Pension Plan.
He was previously Vice-President and General Counsel at Mohawk College in Hamilton and has practiced international law in Toronto and at the World Bank in Washington DC.
Peter Donolo
Peter Donolo is one of Canada's best known strategic communications specialists. He has served as a senior advisor to leaders in all three orders of government, most notably as the longest serving Director of Communications for a Canadian Prime Minister (The Rt Hon Jean Chretien). He is the former Vice Chair of Hill+ Knowlton Strategies Canada and, prior to that, was a partner at the Strategic Counsel. In both those positions, he provided strategic communications advice to CEOs and senior executives of some of Canada's largest companies as well as to public agencies and government departments and ministries. He has also served as Canada's Consul General in Milan, Italy; Senior Vice President of Air Canada; SVP of the 2015 Pan Am Games; Chief of Staff for the Leader of the Official Opposition (Michael Ignatieff) and Advisor on Intergovernmental Affairs in the Cabinet Office of Government of Ontario. Peter is currently vice chair of the boards of directors of two separate not-for-profits: Journalists for Human Rightsand the Canadian International Council. He is also a member of the boards of directors of PEN Canada and Transparency International Canada.
Peter is the co-host of The Red Passport podcast, which focusses on Canada's role in the world. He is a a frequently contributor to Canada's leading newspapers, including The Globe and Mail and The Toronto Star. Peter lives in Toronto with his wife, Mary Cruden.
Huston Loke
Huston Loke is Executive Vice President of Market Conduct at the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA).
FSRA supervises insurance companies, mortgage brokers, credit unions, pensions and other non-securities areas of the financial services sector.
He previously served as Director of Corporate Finance at the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), where he oversaw securities-related matters for all Ontario-based public companies.
In his role, he had statutory authority to receipt prospectuses and grant certain forms of exemptive relief.
Prior to his role at the OSC, Huston advised the CEO of Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).
Prior to his role at CMHC, Huston was President of the credit rating agency DBRS, which covered over 1,000 fixed income issuers in Canada, the US and Europe.
At various times over his career, he has supervised teams of fixed-income analysts in Toronto, New York, Chicago, London and Paris.
Stephen Frank
Stephen brings over 20 years of successful public and private sector experience to his role. As President and CEO, he advocates on behalf of Canada’s life and health insurance sector for policies and perspectives that contribute to a sound, successful insurance system for the benefit of all Canadians.
Stephen is also the current President of the Global Federation of Insurance Associations. GFIA represents the interests of insurers and reinsurers in over 68 countries with global and national regulators on matters impacting the insurance industry. He also sat on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Drug Insurance Pooling Corporation from 2013 to 2019.
Prior to joining CLHIA in March 2010, he held senior roles in global transaction banking and financial strategy at a major bank. Prior to that, he worked as an Economist in the Financial Sector Policy branch at the Department of Finance in Ottawa.
Stephen has a Master's of Finance degree from the University of Cambridge as well as a B.A. (Honours) Economics degree from Queen's University.
Dominic Villeneuve
Dominic Villeneuve is Senior Director, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure at UV Assurance.
Mr Villeneuve has over 28 years’ experience in information technology. A trainer, teacher and lecturer for over 17 years, he has worked in several major companies and organizations in Canada, Mexico and France, in addition to training several thousand people in cybersecurity.
Mr. Villeneuve is passionate about cybersecurity and the technologies surrounding it. In addition to his full-time work as Senior Director, he teaches cybersecurity at various schools, universities and public and private organizations.

Mirella Fiore
With over 25 years of experience in financial services, Mirella is a strategic and results-driven leader known for her ability to inspire teams, drive growth, and challenge the status quo. As Vice President of Business Development at BMO Insurance, she is responsible for life, segregated fund, and annuity sales through the independent distribution network and also leads the business development team across Canada.
Mirella’s journey with BMO Life Assurance Company began in 2008 as a Business Development Manager. Her exceptional leadership and deep industry expertise led to her promotion to Regional Vice President for Eastern Canada in 2016, and in 2021, she was appointed to her current role. Recognized for her direct, transparent, and empowering leadership style, Mirella fosters a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
Before joining BMO, Mirella held senior management roles across group insurance, group pensions, and individual life insurance sales, gaining a well-rounded perspective on the industry. Her bold communication skills, integrity, and commitment to excellence have made her a trusted leader and mentor. Mirella holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and an MBA from the John Molson School of Business.
Kartik Sakthivel
Jennifer Publicover
As Group Head, RBC Insurance, Jennifer Publicover has global responsibility for RBC’s insurance businesses, including life and health, home and auto, travel, group annuities, as well as global reinsurance. She is also the Chair of the Pension Plan Management Committee of the Royal Bank of Canada. Along with other members of the Group Executive, Jennifer is responsible for setting the overall strategic direction of RBC.
Jennifer joined RBC Insurance in January 2023 where she developed a clear digitally-driven growth strategy that includes leveraging the capabilities, relationships and channels from across RBC. She has a depth of experience across global financial services including Senior Vice President, Products & Strategy for RBC Wealth Management, where she played a critical role in the acquisition of Brewin Dolphin, creating one of the largest wealth managers in the U.K., Channel Islands and Ireland.
Prior to joining RBC in 2018, Jennifer worked for Morgan Stanley for 20 years in progressively senior client coverage leadership and management roles where she gained deep institutional experience in its Investment Banking Division, primarily in New York and London.
Denis Dubois
Denis Dubois has served as Executive Vice-President of Wealth Management and Life and Health Insurance at Desjardins Group since 2019. In addition to his role as President and Chief Operating Officer of Desjardins Financial Security, he's also responsible for the activities at Desjardins Investments and Desjardins Global Asset Management.
Denis has been with Desjardins since 2003. His knowledge of the Canadian insurance market and his leadership skills have propelled him into various roles in senior management, including Executive Vice-President of Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance, a position he held from 2016 to 2019.
Denis channels a clear vision and an engaging leadership style into a fundamental belief his employees buy into—the importance of being a leader in the member/client experience. The specialized savings and P&C insurance products and solutions they develop are designed to meet the evolving needs of DGIG clients. His teams also support the distribution of those products across Desjardins's caisse network and the organization's specialized, partner and independent networks.
Fabien Jeudy
Fabien joined Equitable Life Insurance Company of Canada as President and Chief Executive Officer in July 2021. Prior to joining Equitable Life, Fabien was President of Sun Life International Hubs, responsible for life, health, wealth and pension businesses across Hong Kong, Bermuda and Singapore.
Over the course of his career Fabien has led actuarial, finance, risk management, distribution, marketing, and operational teams in the life and health insurance, wealth management and group benefits markets in Canada, the US, and Asia.
Fabien is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, the Institute of Actuaries of India and the Actuarial Society of Hong Kong. He graduated from Concordia University’s Bachelor of Science (Actuarial Mathematics) program in 1990.

Sandy Duperval
Dynamic, passionate, and talented are just a few of the many qualities that define this multi-disciplinary artist. Born in Montreal, Sandy Duperval has always nurtured a deep love for music. At just three years old, she made her first musical appearance on the television show Passe-Partout. Inspired by icons such as Whitney Houston, Lauryn Hill, Tina Turner, Robin S, and Crystal Waters, she honed her craft through 13 years of vocal training at the JAM Vocal School. At only 13 years old, she studied under the tutelage of Cissy Houston, the mother of the legendary Whitney Houston.
During her studies at Collège de Sherbrooke, where she specialized in jazz vocals, Sandy discovered the art of DJing. She then forged a unique path, becoming one of the rare DJs and singers in the industry to perform live vocals during her sets. This distinctive combination has allowed her to stand out at major events around the world.
She has had the opportunity to open for world-renowned artists and DJs such as Chus & Ceballos, Morabito, Bob Sinclar, Ultra Naté, Ruby Rose, and Lil Jon, among others.
