Renee Laflamme

Renée Laflamme is Executive Vice-President, Individual Insurance, Savings and Retirement at iA Financial Group. She manages this sector’s operations and activities across Canada. She is responsible for the growth strategy for the individual Insurance, savings and retirement, as well as all distribution, underwriting, product development, marketing and administration activities. She is also responsible for leading the operations of PPI Management, and is a member of the company’s executive committee.

Renée Laflamme has a Bachelor of Administration from Laval University and is a chartered accountant and chartered financial analyst. In 2017, she was awarded the title of Fellow CPA. In 2022 and again in 2024, Ms. Laflamme won the Finance et Investissement Top Leader Award for Quebec in the “Leaders/Executives in the Financial Industry” category. In 2023, Renée was named one of the Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada by the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) in the “Executive Leaders” category. She also supports a number of philanthropic organizations, including Centraide Québec-Chaudière-Appalaches, where she has been a member of the major donations committee for several years.

Ms. Laflamme joined iA Financial Group in 1998, after ten years with a large accounting firm. In 2004, she became Vice-President of Mortgage Loans and in 2010, Vice-President of Group Savings and Retirement. In 2015, she was promoted to the Strategic Planning Committee and to the role of Executive Vice-President, Group Benefits and Retirement Solutions. Since February 2018, she has assumed responsibility over the Canadian activities and operations of the Individual insurance and Savings and Retirement sector.

As Senior Vice President, Individual & Group, Products and Pricing, Maria Winslow leads the strategic direction and execution of RBC Insurance’s product and pricing portfolio. She is responsible for the overall product strategy, ensuring alignment with both client needs and overall business objectives.

Maria is recognized for her ability to drive efficiencies and differentiated service, inspiring her team to embrace an innovative, empowering, customer-focused mindset throughout the product lifecycle. She guides her team to create solutions that are adaptable to market needs, fosters seamless cross-collaboration to ensure alignment on goals, and prioritizes innovation based on customer feedback and market insights.

With over 25 years of insurance industry experience across product management, creditor, sales, operations, marketing and actuarial roles, Maria uses a holistic view to find synergies across the organization to create efficiencies, increase accountability and accelerate decision-making. She was the driving force behind the creation of RBC Insurance’s participating whole life product suite and simplified life and disability portfolio.

In addition to leading a high-performing team, Maria also plays a critical role in shaping the culture at RBC Insurance as the current Executive Sponsor to the Insurance Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Council and as a past chair for the RBC Insurance Employee Giving Campaign for several years. She is also an Executive Sponsor for the RBC Stronger Together Employee Resource Group which empowers women across the organization.

Driven by her passion to help others, Maria is committed to mentoring the next generation of leaders, volunteering in her local community, and advocating for improved access to women’s healthcare and financial wellness. Maria holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Concordia University.
