2024 CAILBA Regional Meetings: A National Success
Toronto Highlights
Toronto’s session provided an insightful discussion of regulatory and industry issues. Presentations were delivered by:

Montreal Highlights
Montreal offered a reflective discussion on the 2024 activities of the AMF and ACCAP. Hosted by Adrien Legault, the panel discussed
key issues in distribution and welcomed:
- Louise Gauthier from the AMF
- Lyne Duhaime from the CLHIA
Vancouver Highlights
Vancouver featured a discussion led by Janet Sinclair, Chief Executive Officer of the Insurance Council of British Columbia, and Nina Kavalinas, Vice-President, National Compliance at Financial Horizons.
The Industry Roundtable brought together leaders, including:

We are reaching out to inform you the 2025 CAILBA National Conference & AGM will be moved from the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth to Le Centre Sheraton, 1201 René-Lévesque Blvd W, Montréal, Québec. This event will be held on the same dates April 30 to May 2, only a few short blocks away from the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth.
As you may be aware, The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, locked out its unionized members in November 2024. They closed their doors in December, and today they remain in a lockout with limited services. Due to this unforeseen circumstance, The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth will release CAILBA. It is unlikely that this matter will be settled before our National Conference in April.
Members that have already secured a reservation with the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth will be receiving a new confirmation number from Le Centre Sheraton. The reservations are in the process of being transferred to our new hotel. Once transferred, all Queen Elizabeth Hotel reservations will automatically be cancelled. You do not need to contact the Fairmont to cancel your existing reservation. We are also pleased to inform you the cost per room has been reduced from $299/night to $289/night. If you have yet to secure a room, a new reservation link will be posted on our website shortly for Le Centre Sheraton.
